Katie Bennett is a writer and musician based in West Philly. She is finishing writing a memoir about gendered violence, thwarted creative ambition, and reimagining harmful literary mythology. Her memoir builds off an essay she published in Lit Hub.

Katie has been in residence at Yaddo, served as a mentor for PEN America’s Prison and Justice Writing Program, and runs the reading series Personal Velocity. She also spent a decade touring North America and Europe with various bands and her new songwriting and recording project Katie Bejsiuk has been featured in Pitchfork, SPIN, and NPR’s All Songs Considered.
